From basic fire awareness training, through to more specific fire marshal / fire warden training, Principal Training can provide a comprehensive course covering various aspects of fire safety.

Not only do our courses explain in detail how to deal with a fire, but also inform you about the multiple types of fires and fire prevention methods.

In addition to our fire safety courses, we also offer a 3 hour load handling course to raise employee awareness of manual handling issues and techniques.

Fire Marshal / Fire Warden course
(6 Hours)

This course is aimed at any member of staff who has been allocated fire safety responsibilities, including the prevention of fires and implementation of fire evacuation procedures, should a fire occur.

The course consists of a presentation covering:

  • Fire precautions legislation
  • Fire science
  • General fire prevention measures
  • Case studies
  • Actions to be taken in the event of a fire Evacuation procedures
  • Fire wardens responsibilities
  • Calling the fire brigade
  • Classes of fire and extinguishing methods
  • Basic fire precaution
  • Fire extinguishers

As with all of our training courses we believe the best way to learn is by involving delegates throughout the course. In this course a range of case studies, quizzes and a practical fire extinguisher session are used to ensure involvement of all delegates.

Fire Awareness course
(3 Hours)

This course is aimed at any staff that may discover a fire or evacuate your premises in the event of a fire.

The course consists of a presentation covering:

  • Introduction
  • Fire law (in brief)
  • The threat of Fire
  • Fire science
  • Fire behaviour
  • Fire action routines
  • Fire extinguisher types

As with all of our training courses we believe the best way to learn is by involving delegates throughout the course. In this course a range of case studies and quizzes are used to ensure involvement of all delegates.

Load Handling course
(3 Hours)

This course aims to raise employee awareness of manual handling issues and appropriate techniques for the workplace, covering the following objectives:

  • Definition of manual handling
  • Common injuries and activities which cause harm
  • Very brief overview of the manual handling regulations application of the principal and need for risk assessment
  • Methods of reducing manual handling injuries in the workplace
  • Awareness of good manual handling techniques
  • Role of manual handling risk assessments
  • Procedures for reporting any manual handling injuries
  • Provide practical examples of safe manual handling techniques across the range of the clients activities
